Product Description
Wilo SCP is a single-stage or two-stage non self suction centrifugal pump with an axially separable pump housing. The water pump housing is spiral shaped and consists of two cast iron components that are connected together by screws fixed along the water pump shaft.

The pump casing is of volute form, cast in halves.which are bolted together along the pump axis.Gasket paperis provided between thesplit flangesof top and bottom casing. For accurate locationcasing halves, bearing housings/ brackets etc. arelocated with dowel pins.
The suction and deliverybranchesof the pump arecast integral with bottom half casing, which alsoincorporate the mounting feet. Tapings are drilledin suction and delivery branches for connectingthe pressure gauges and providing casing drain.Boresofbottom halfcasing are grooved to providelocation for neck rings and stuffing box bushes.Tapings are provided in the top of casing fortaking liquid seal connection on both stuffing box regions. In other cases, alternative arrangements(see fig. 11) are provided. Tapings are also provi-ded on the top half casing for mounting air cockfor venting.
To prevent the pumped liquid from the deliveryside ofthe impeller the pump casing is designedwith finerunning clearances around the impellereye. These fine running clearances are essentialfor the satisfactory performance ofthe pump andtheir periodic restoration is necessary. Runningclearance is provided between neck rings andimpellerneck. Neck rings are renewable to allowthis fine clearance to be restored periodically aswear takes place. These rings are located in thebottom half casing by a half-spigot and are pre-vented from rotating with the impeller sincetheseare locked by the face of split flange oftop casing
The rotating element consists of a shaft on towhich is keyed the impeller orimpellers. Renewa-ble shaft sleeves abut the impeller hub and pro-tect the shaft from corrosion and erosion. Theimpeller is locked by sleeve nuts, which have theirthreads left/right handed as per direction of rota-tion to prevent them from unscrewing by therotation of the shaft.
The rotating element may be carried in deepgroove ball bearings or in split-bush journal bea-rings, in which case ball thrust bearings or thrustdiscs and nuts are provided to restrict- axialmovement.
Bearings are located in housings, which areattached to the ends of the pump casing.
Stuffing box bushes (stationary part) are providedon either side over the sleeve and located in bot-tom halfcasing. This helps in proper guiding oftheliquid to impeller eye. Where as back face of stuf-fing box provides support to gland packing.Logging rings (stationary part) are provided oneither side over the sleeve, sandwiched betweengland packing located in stuffing box belowsealingarrangement. Loggingring providesproperstuffing box sealing arrangement. For 2 stagepumps instead of logging ring leak-offring /bushis provided at second stage stuffing box.For some of the models the shaft also carrieswater thrower, oil thrower.
